Winching Evolution
Просмотров 295 лет назад
Earlier this year, during a heavy rescue class, this winching operation was established to move a vehicle from under a bus. The bus was lifted with lifting bags and then the vehicle movement operation commenced. During operations like this it is very important to understand rigging forces, calculating resistance, and building a system that is keeps the force within working load limits. (Note: A...

That's the neatest model I've ever seen. I've developed a fascination with the operation of grain elevators and feed mills in recent years.
Love this model! So glad its still working at Pioneer Acres in Irricana, Alberta

Minnesota Studies - Chapters 10 and 11
Nice
So glad I came across this - I've lived around these for years and never knew how they work.
perfect, exactly what I was curious about
That live model demo answered all my questions...Thanks ERIC!
still doing this in 2021 for our Silos.
Isn't it a conflict that the person testing quality is also the buyer ? Shouldn't it be neutral? Are there situations where the driver is like "hell no" after hearing the quality report but the grain is already unloaded? This is an awesome model.
Not sure how it works in Canada but if the farmer disagrees with the grade he can get a sample sent to a federal grain inspection office which will issue a official grade.
More often then not the producer sends samples ahead of a delivery to find out the grade of their grain. Samples are super important so everyone knows the quality of the grain although this can change when the load is dumped at the elevator for a number of reasons.
We have a sampler it is a moisture tester that cannot be rigged
Really cool model, and great cutaway visual explanation.

Fortunately I had the experience of working in a very similar old elevator. It was pure enjoyment looking at how it worked and climbing inside. It was a sad day to hear it was torn down.
I madeavideo like this, It will be uploaded soon.
amazing model!
Were did you get the leg belting and cups from
I like the tunnels
The guy probably loves his kids and grandkids very much and made this for them initially
Hmm, I like your imagination. 😅
Where is this model located? Is it on public display?
Would you ever consider selling this model?
Great video. I work for the railroad in Ontario and service a few customers with grain elevators. I've always wondered how they work. Thanks for the information!
I worked for a farmer, back in the 70s, that had a unloader like this one, we always had to hand crank it down to feed, do any of the unloaders like this one let them selves down automaticly?
nor gotr No, they must still go up and adjust it. Then crank it down and rehook it at next opening.
My grandfather's farm had two silos with Jamesway unloaders, they had a control unit with levers on them to raise and lower the unloaders. They would not lower themselves automatically though.
